01

Problem

Seasonal trips in Nepal were often sold like ordinary circuits: a rushed heritage stop, a staged craft visit, and little clarity on where the booking money went. Travelers had nowhere to see a timed departure, check open spots, or follow a request without a chain of messages.

The trips still run with United Tours and Travels. What was missing was a public place for one journey at a time, and a shared inbox for the team.

02

Approach

We built YatraX as a seasonal drop. One journey is live on the homepage. Guests read that story and, if spots are open, send an inquiry with their name, email, phone, group size, and a note.

The request stays pending until the operator reviews it. The guest gets a reference number and an email. After a place is confirmed, the guest receives bank transfer details, and the team marks the booking as paid.

From the desk, the team chooses which journey is live, sets dates and spots, confirms or cancels inquiries, and edits the page copy. Guests can look up a booking with their reference and email.

Card checkout and traveler accounts stayed out of the first version. These are small departures, so United Tours and Travels stays in the loop before a place is confirmed. A second journey, Mundum Kitchen Trail, is prepared as a draft and stays off the homepage until it is that journey's turn.

03

Stack

The public site and the operator desk live in one app. Journeys, dates, bookings, and page content sit in one database. Guests and the team hear back by email. A confirmed place is settled by bank transfer, then marked paid by the team.

Outcome

YatraX now has a public page, a booking request that respects open spots, a way for guests to check status, and one desk for the operator: which journey is live, when it departs, and who has inquired.

Newar Heritage is the live journey. Mundum Kitchen Trail waits as a draft.
